Choir Ensembles

We have five choir ensemble levels, from beginning to virtuoso. Since all singers enter the choir with differing skill levels, inclusion in a specific ensemble may depend on ability rather than age, as shown by the age ranges below.

Arizona Girlchoir AngeliAngeli

Angeli means “angel.” For girls ages 6 to 8, Angeli is our entry-level choir; no experience is necessary. This beginning choir is generally a singer’s introduction to choir, music theory, and sight-singing. Angeli focuses on teaching appropriate techniques that will be developed and perfected throughout the singer’s tenure with the Arizona Girlchoir. We will teach them to read notes, but some ability to read text is required.

Amabile

Amabile means “sweet.” For girls ages 8 to 11, Amabile is a beginning- to intermediate-level choir, continuing to focus on musical development and skill level, as well as perfecting the singer’s individual knowledge and understanding of music theory and sight-singing. No experience is necessary but we are looking for the serious and talented singer who wishes to learn all she possibly can about the art of singing and the presentation of polished performances.

AriaArizona Girlchoir Aria

Aria means “song.” For girls ages 11 to 14. Aria singers are skilled and accomplished and generally have achieved an excelling level of vocal performance, music theory, and sight-singing. No actual choir experience is necessary but we are looking for the serious and talented singer who wishes to continue learning all she possibly can about the art of singing and the presentation of polished performances.

Anima

Anima means “life.” For girls ages 14 to 18 (high school). Anima singers are skilled and accomplished and generally have achieved an excelling level of vocal performance, music theory, and sight-singing. No actual choir experience is necessary but we are looking for the serious and talented singer who wishes to continue learning all she possibly can about the art of singing and the presentation of polished performances.

Allegria

Allegria means “joy.” For young adult women out of high school, ages 18 to 30. Allegria focuses on a professional sound and appearance, providing a rich choral experience for the maturing voice of the female singer. Allegria maintains a unique level of choral scheduling with emphasis as a virtuoso performance choir.
