As with anything in life, if you want something from somebody, you have to ask for it. If you do not ask, you most likely will not get what you are requesting. This principle is just as true for seeking a job or asking for a raise as it is with fundraising.
Storefront fundraising in its simplest form is asking people who pass by you if they would like to donate to support our choir. The time you will spend with each person is approximately 20 seconds. The more people you ask, the better the chances of getting significant donations.
This opportunity provides our girls a method for raising funds for the choir in a relatively short period of time. It also increases awareness and gets the Arizona Girlchoir name into the public.
- The dates we can fundraise are November 2, 3, 4 and 16, 17, 18.
- No more than 6 people may staff a table at a given time, and one adult must be present.
- Only ask customers for donations when they are exiting the store.
When arriving at the store, please let the manager know that you are present and fundraising in front of the store. When leaving, please thank the manager for the opportunity and let them know you are leaving.
What to Bring
- Small Table
- Framed Logo
- Donation Jar
- Printed Materials
- Change (1×10, 2×5, 10×1)
Girls may wear either concert dress or informal t-shirt/yoga pants to fundraise. Please consider the “market” you are at and the comfort level of the girl in making this decision. Whichever choice you make, your singer’s appearance should be neat and cheerful!
Hello, my name is ________ and I sing with the Arizona Girlchoir. We’re asking for donations to help support the choir. Would you like to donate?
Be ready to answer questions about the choir, if you like singing, when our next concert is (December 15) and other choir-related questions. Parents, please help out your singer if they need some help, but for the most part, let them be the one engaging the customer.
Checks may be accepted from donors if they are made out to Arizona Girlchoir.
When turning in money, please purchase a money order so you don’t have to carry around a large amount of cash. Make the money orders out to Arizona Girlchoir and use that to turn in any money to the choir.
After your singer has met her $100 fundraising minimum for the season, additional donations will be credited 50/50 between the choir’s general operating fund and the singer’s account and available for designated use towards tuition, camp, and tour charges.
